MobLand isn’t unique among its British crime drama counterparts, but for those who enjoy such programs for their violence in combination with a more methodical rhythm, MobLand is a decent choice. The show is well worth your time if you like strong character work and appreciate a show’s atmosphere. It probably has the b-est among the rest.
MobLand is almost cliche in its tropes, for better or worse. The good nature of the main character is the kind of good nature that really drives you up the wall, but the show is interesting for it. The show is entertaining crime drama, so if you want some neat British crime drama, watch MobLand.

A Familiar London Underworld
The series follows two rival criminal families headed up by Harry Da Souza and Conrad Harrigan, drawing a complex web of betrayals and drug trafficking. The production took inspiration from London-based gang stories and went with a crunchy, high stakes approach to keep the audiences engaged.
The premise is the usual suspect but the conflict between the families creates enough interest to warrant watching. It steers clear of the boring zone, even if it heavily relies on tropes that veteran fans of the genre have seen 100 times before.
Hardy and Brosnan Carry the Weight
The primary reason for tuning in will be the performances. Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan have tremendous chemistry which will make for must-see TV. Hardy has his trademark intensity. Brosnan has an impressive balance of the drive to hold his empire and the restraint needed to just be a dad.
Some of the audience could get a little bored by yet another black and white dramatic role for Hardy. That said, he destroys the competition with the demeanor this role requires. The co-stars add dimension to the generic script and make it entertaining to watch.

If you enjoy series like Peaky Blinders, then you might enjoy this show, especially to have on your background while you do chores as you can shut off and still enjoy the storylines. This is filler entertainment at its best. It’s a little predictable, but that’s okay for some shows.
That said, this is not for binge-watching. This also won’t be your show if you like twists, as they are few and far between. This show has no disappointing surprises like other shows. Watch this show if you need something you can watch every week, but with no real point of interest. This show is chill.
